Jack is the founder of Zook Dinon PA and Professor Emeritus of Accounting at La Salle University. He brings value to the firm and its clients through over forty years of diversified professional experience. He was granted emeritus status in 2019 after serving forty years as a tenured faculty member of the Accounting Department of La Salle University. He retired from teaching in the summer of 2015.
Prior to founding Zook Dinon PA in 1979, Jack was a financial analyst with Verizon (formerly Bell of Pennsylvania) and a member of the audit staff of the international accounting firm of Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (formerly Coopers & Lybrand, LLP) where he served as an industry specialist for utilities and hospitals.
Jack’s primary responsibilities include business structuring, mezzanine and private equity fund consulting, profitability analysis, entity selection, and general tax and business planning.
Jack is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida. He is a member of the American Institute, the New Jersey Society, the Pennsylvania Institute, and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jack also holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation, awarded by the AICPA to CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning. He earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Drexel University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Joseph’s University.
He has published over 30 articles in a number of national and regional journals including The Tax Adviser, The CPA Journal, Taxation for Lawyers, Accounting Today, Taxation for Accountants, Personal Financial Planning, Pennsylvania CPA Journal, Today’s CPA and the Ohio CPA Journal. He is a contributing author to the textbooks The Family Lawyer’s Guide to Stock Options and Managing Human Service Organizations. He has been quoted in such publications as The Journal of Accountancy, The Florida Bar Journal, Financial World and Success Magazine.
In the community, Jack currently serves as Vice Chair on the Saint Joseph’s University Board of Trustees. He has served as a Past Chairman of the National Club Association in Washington, D.C. (2012-2013), a Past President of the Union League of Philadelphia (2008-2010), a Past Board Member and Treasurer of Delaware Valley Habitat for Humanity (1999-2005) and a Past Board Member and Audit Committee Chair of the Philadelphia Investment Partners New Generation Fund (2011-2016).
